No, registering to sell your bike and uploading adverts with Bennetts Free Classifieds is a free service

Do I need to register to sell a bike?

Yes, you can create an account simply by registering

Do I need to register as Trade or Private Seller?

Yes, you will need to choose whether you are a Trade or Private Seller from the registration options

How do I register?

If you are selling a bike please visit the ‘Selling a Bike’ section.

If I’m selling more than 1 bike, do I need to register for each bike advert?

No, the account you create upon registration allows you to upload multiple adverts from the one account. It’s quick and easy to do.

How soon will my advert be seen on your site?

Adverts are published instantly on our site. If you do experience a delay this may be due to a higher volume of adverts being placed on our site than normal.

I’m a dealer, is there a way I can upload bike adverts in bulk to your site?

Yes, depending upon the dealer management system you use, Visit the Dealer FAQ page for more details.

Ensuring a sale

What can I do to help my bike sell?

There are a number of things you can do to ensure your motorbike sells:

1. Ensure the bike is cleaned prior to any photography
2. Take good quality pictures from a variety of angles to give the buyer an opportunity to see the quality of the bike you are selling
3. Research the market to make sure you’re setting a realistic buyer price
4. Be clear and concise on the bike specifications
5. Be honest and transparent around the quality of your bike

If I don’t sell the bike within a month what can I do?

If the bike is taking longer than anticipated to sell look at the market and review your advert. You may need to add more images, lower the price or add more detail to your advert.

Uploading an advert

How long is my advert listed for?

Your advert will remain live, until it has been sold and you decide to delete the advert from your account.

How many bikes adverts can I advertise?

You can upload unlimited adverts from one account, whether you are a Private or Trade Seller.

Can I advertise spare parts and accessories?

Unfortunately, Bennetts Free Classifieds only allows customers to sell Bikes online at present. If you have feedback on other services you would like to see please fill in our online survey.

Can I advertise Quad bikes?

Yes, you can. Please note that Bennetts do not currently insure Quad Bikes.

Can I advertise Trikes?

Yes, you can. Please note that Bennetts do not currently insure Trikes.

Uploading Photos

How many photos can I upload?

For each advert a maximum of 10 images can be uploaded.

What format do my photos need to be to ensure they upload?

You can upload pictures in many formats including Jpeg, Tif, Gif files.

What is the file size maximum for each image?

The images will need to be 2.2mb or lower to upload. If your images are of a higher quality free packages like Paint and Paintbrush can be used to crop and reduce file sizes. If you are a Mac user, iPhoto can be used to lower the file size.

Publishing an Advert

My adverts ready, how do I publish?

Whilst you are within your Account creating the advert, please click on the option to publish.

I can’t find my advert online? What do I do?

Please double check within your Account that the Advert has been published correctly.

Editing my Advert

How do I remove my bike?

Login to your Account and use the options to remove your advert.

How do I edit my advert?

Login to your Account and use the options to edit your advert.

How do I change the price advertised?

Login to your Account and use the options to edit the price on your advert(s).

After the Bike Sale

What do I do when I have sold my bike?

Login to your account and either delete or remove your advert. Please remember that your account will remain active so that you may revisit the site and upload an advert at any time.

Do I need to close my Account?

You do not need to close your Account if you have sold a Bike, and you will be able to reuse your Account at any time.

What features are included within my Account?

You can edit adverts, upload content, upload photos, publish adverts, remove adverts and change your account password.

I can’t get into my Account? What do I do?

Please go to the registration area and click on ‘forgotten password’. An email will be sent the email address you registered with. Follow the instructions to reset your password.

If you have a complaint about our site then we are sorry to hear that. We will aim to rectify any issues as quickly and efficiently as possible so please call Customer Services on 0844 421 2171.
